Job Description:
Full-time position inspecting lumber according to NHLA hardwood grading rules and in-house grading standards.
Examine both faces of a board to assign a grade, or make trimming or edging decisions to increase the value of the piece.
PRIOR LUMBER GRADING EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF NHLA GRADING RULES IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility is to work safely and help maintain a safe work environment through the facility.
Grade kiln dried hardwood lumber at production rates, while maintaining the required accuracy.
Work with millwrights and maintenance to assist with preventative and minor maintenance.
Maintain a clean, safe, uncluttered work area.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Physical fitness:
this job requires exertion of more than 50 pounds occasionally, and more than 20 pounds continuously.
Experience:
Minimum 1 years hardwood lumber grading experience required.
Location:
Company has multiple locations in the Virginia and North Carolina.
This opportunity is for the Crewe, VA facility.
