8K - $44K a year 6 days ago 6 days ago 6 days ago Description Grant Funded Position The WIOA Career Advisor will assist customers in their employment and training activities.
Services include but are not limited to, job search activities, eligibility determination and enrollment for Wagner Peyser and/or Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs, career advising, case management, referring customers to additional resources, enrolling customers into training, assisting customers with their individual employment plans, and employment search activities.
Examples of Duties The Career Advisor registers customers in the workforce tracking system by collecting their basic information and ensuring that they are co-enrolled as appropriate in Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act programs.
They follow all state and local guidelines for documenting Adults and Dislocated Workers when obtaining personal information needed to determine eligibility for programs.
The Career Advisor will schedule follow-up visits and collect any information from relevant sources for assisting customers in using employment services or training.
Time will be spent on performing work readiness assessments on referrals to determine their work readiness to appropriately apply for and attain employment.
Additional time will be spent reviewing employer job orders and referring qualified job applicants to employers based on the defined standards set by employers.
Time will be spent on reviewing an applicant's information to ensure that the files are complete to support program eligibility before referring them to training, and for support services.
The Career Advisor will maintain contact with all assigned participants in training to provide on-going case management, career advisement, and/or coaching.
Coordination and enrollment into training opportunities that exist.
They will chronicle the types of services a customer receives and outcomes as a result of those services.
The Career Advisor will schedule follow-up visits, and collect any information from relevant sources for assisting customers in using employment services or training.
Time will be spent on performing work readiness assessments on referrals to determine their work readiness to appropriately apply for and attain employment.

This work should be executed by utilizing interviewing, coaching/ training techniques, labor market information, and recruiting skills to match and connect job seekers to employers.
Minimum/Required Qualifications Required:
Associate's Degree in a relevant discipline.
Two years' work experience in higher education, counseling, case management, social work, or related field required.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
Knowledge of the current Training Point ISD program system.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
